Delicious Autumn

Delicious Autumn

If you live in the New England area and have not gotten oufoliage (24)t to see the leaves, stop and drop everything. They are amazing this year and you owe it to yourself to go and watch one of the most spectacular death scenes in the world.

Throughout New England, there are beautiful old trees that produce amazing color just hanging out in the town green or some lucky (for now) person’s back yard. Personally, I hate raking so I’m OK with going to see the color show without the hard work after the leaf drop 😉

At times, it is distracting to be driving down these curvy roads and having these beautiful flashes of color catching your attention. Combine that with the occasional farm and I’m in heaven.

Even the trees in Boston are getting in the act! While mostly just yellow trees, they are scattered throughout the city and provide a wonderful contrast to the brick and mortar surrounding them.

Some of my favorite trees, though, are in some of our spookiest places. Many of these beautiful trees are inside the historic burial grounds of New England.  Brilliant red, orange, and yellow are surrounded by Death’s Heads, Willow and Urn, and Cherub images. I could spend all of October wandering around these places and then going to get cider donuts (which is totally what I did to round out my day!)

How is the foliage by you? I’m hoping that I’ll be able to squeeze in one more trip out before they are fly off the branches and are just another memory.

  1. Beautiful autumn:) Even in my home country Lithuania I never saw such colors of trees during autumn 😀 But now I live in Indonesia, so here is no autumn, no winter, just dry and rainy seasons:) miss that golden color of leaves;)

    1. If you want a really impressive show, go to the white mountains of new Hampshire here in the us. Such bright colors, but mostly red and orange wroth green pine trees. Just lovely

  2. I love this! We live in LA so do not get to see the change of seasons like this. I really want to spend a week or so driving along the NorthEast in Autumn so I can just soak it all up! Lovely photos!
