#Take12Trips
A few people have been posting about the new travel challenge to #Take12Trips in 2016. As I am currently down with a wicked cold or mild flu, this is the perfect time to distract myself with our future plans for the year š
Unfortunately, we arenāt able to take a trip each month due to the fact that our work schedules are so hard to sync. I work Sunday through Thursday, Eric has a āregularā work schedule something I havenāt had since 2013. As such, I have decided to take a flexible definition of the challenge and make them into more of visits. With limited time, we will be focusing on getting out and exploring the areas around us.
One of our goals is to hit all the highpoints of New England this year…just have to wait for the snow to fade away.
- The Inn at Ellis River in Jackson, NH
- Darby Field Inn in Albany, NH
- Disney with the family
- Mount Greylock (MA) (Highpoint)
- Mount Washington (NH) (Highpoint)
- Jerimouth Point and National Park locations in RI (Highpoint)
- Mount Mansfield (VT) (Highpoint)
- Mount Frissell (CT) (Highpoint)
- Mount Katahdin (ME) (Highpoint)
- Mount Tom, Field, and Wiley in New Hampshire
- Grand Canyon (Hiking for Team in Training, donate to our team here!)
- The Desert of Maine
A bonus trip would be to go to New Orleans sometime in the fall. I think NOLA is a great combination of music, food, history, and interesting sights and Eric has never been…BUT, we would love to go to Scandinavia (especially Norway) next year too…and maybe Hawaii…and maybe Russia. haha. I have way too many ideas for both my budget and workās willingness to give me days off.
Where will you be going for 2016?

I find planning trips can sometimes be nearly as fun as going on one! I hope you get around to doing everything on the list so that I can read about it š
Planning can be kinda terrifying cause I don’t want to mess up, but fruitful when you find something amazing. Thanks for visiting!
Add NOLA for sure! Cool idea though, and a good way to push ourselves to get around to planning more travel instead of just dreaming about it.
I really enjoyed it when I went for work, even with the 30 degree weather. Made the beignets taste even better.
Planning trips can be hard indeed sometimes! We’d been seaching for a good time, and when we finally found it, I got a great job offer and all changed again. Complains? Not at all š It’s how life goes right?!
lol
And maybe more money to travel to cool new places? Congrats š
Super cool, I have not heard about the #take12trips but I am going to look it up and thing about it.
Good luck with your trips!
You have a great list there, have fun and hope you get to make them all and get your badge!
Me too!! I have individual ones for each high point as a carrot to get to the end of the journey š I miss girl scout badges.
So many places to keep us occupied! You must do Hawaii- such an awesome place and so laid back. I too am looking forward to heading to Scandanavia some time. Just hope the conversion against the euro picks up a little for us š
When I’m having a bad day at work, I put in “everywhere” into SkyScanner š Keeps me happy. I think we are going to do Hawaii in 2018…Scandinavia potentially next year. The Euro was doing pretty poorly against the dollar last year. It was great!
I love planning trips. Finding new places to go from all the travel websites out there. Luckily information is easy to come by. My time is mostly taken trying to find cheap flights
Mine too! And then after that, what awesome tours I want to go on. I <3 tours.
I’ve been doing lots of trip planning too! We just have 6 more months living in Seoul, so getting in a lot of Asia travel!
That is probably a really good base with their airport to go to a bunch of amazing places! Planning is great…but I really want to get going! š
NOLA is such a cool place to be in! not only the food there are to-die-for, i love the colourful vibes! and I am pretty excited to find Russian in your plan, you should definitely come!
