A Bite of Fall: Cider Donuts

A Bite of Fall: Cider Donuts

Apples might be great, but donuts are wicked awesome. So, while some people think that fall isn’t official until they’ve had their first hot (possibly mulled) apple cider, I think fall hasn’t started until I’ve had my first hot cider donuts. Cider donuts have been around for a while, but have only recently become something that people obsess about. And why not? They are little bites of fall that are perfect to munch on while picking pumpkins or apples. There…

The Sunflowers of Newbury

The Sunflowers of Newbury

Sunflowers are one of the last types to bloom and definitely are a herald of summer’s last days. Cooler weather and early sunsets are on their way! Colby Farm in Newbury, MA has been using these beautiful flowers to make a carpet of yellow every fall for the last 12 years. Autumn Fills the Air

Autumn Fills the Air

Yesterday, we decided to be tourists in our own backyard and join the crowds going to view the beautiful foliage of New Hampshire before it was too late.   We were blown away by the views!     After buying our tickets, we waited in line for only a little bit. Taking advice from my cousin, Joe, I wandered off to the Quabbin Reservoir to see if I could find anything worthwhile. I was pleasantly surprised by not only the beauty of Boston’s water supply (more on that…

Delicious Autumn

Delicious Autumn

If you live in the New England area and have not gotten out to see the leaves, stop and drop everything. They are amazing this year and you owe it to yourself to go and watch one of the most spectacular death scenes in the world. Throughout New England, there are beautiful old trees that produce amazing color just hanging out in the town green or some lucky (for now) person’s back yard. Personally, I hate raking so I’m OK…
