The Buttonwood Inn
Overlooking several mountains that make for wonderful hiking and skiing, the North Conway area is rife with places to dine and stay a week or a weekend. We fought the Boston traffic for several hours to spend a weekend at the Buttonwood Inn.
Our room consisted of a huge sleeping area and a sitting area with its own gas powered fireplace. The hardwood furniture and blonde plank hardwood floor created an airy ambiance that was inviting and relaxing after an escape from the city or after a hike. Our room had a separate entrance from the parking lot with a ramp that made it private but still easily accessible to the rest of the inn.
Not only was the room huge, it also had a giant bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub. It was great for unwinding after a hike.
The owners leave treats in the dining room every day at 5:00 P.M. During our stay, we snacked on cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies, and an afternoon cup of coffee.
Breakfast is served every morning. During our stay, we ate a savory breakfast of eggs and ham and a sweet breakfast of fruit, whole wheat pancakes, and a homemade sausage patty of locally sourced meat ground and spiced in the Buttonwood’s kitchen.
There is plenty to do at Buttonwood. A piano and a guitar in the upstairs sitting room, a huge television with an assortment of movies and board games in the basement are all available to guests. There are hiking trails on-property behind the inn. They also have a ton of different packages including shopping, summer fun on Cranmore Mountain, horseback riding, even a murder mystery train package! There is something for everyone throughout the year.
There’s a wood stove in the basement if you prefer it to the gas powered fireplace in the room. You can pick a DVD or game from the basement and have a nice time in front of one of the fires. Toasty!
Located just off Hurricane Mountain Road, the Buttonwood is extremely convenient to shopping and dining in downtown North Conway. If shopping isn’t your thing, then Cranmore Mountain, Mt. Washington, and the rest of the White Mountains are a short drive from the Buttonwood. We had a great time staying with Paula and Bill and highly recommend their BnB for your next stay in North Conway.

What a charming inn! Looks like a great place to stay cozy in the winter.
This place would be amazing in the winter. Right down the street from a smaller ski mountain and up the street from a pizza/general store/liquor place. Perfect setting 🙂
